Premodern Practices of Commentary. Tradition and Innovations

On April 8 and 9, the conference "Premodern Practices of Commentary. Tradition and Innovations" will take place in the event room of the Philologicum. The conference is dedicated to exploring the practice of commentary in the transitional phase between the Middle Ages and Humanism in four thematic areas, with the aim of enabling typological definitions of commentaries.
In the course of the conference, eleven lectures are expected from scholars from seven different international universities. At the end of the event, the participants will visit parts of the collection of the Bayrische Staatsbibliothek.
